Block chain Technology: Demystifying Bitcoin and Road Ahead for Crypto Currency
Description
Ganpat University - Acharya Motibhai Patel Institute of Computer Studies-IQAC Cell and IEEE Ganpat University Student Branch organized a Two-Day workshop on “Block chain Technology: Demystifying Bitcoin and Road Ahead for Crypto currency” during 08–09 September 2022. The program witnessed a total 51 + participation including participants from India’s top most institutes and many more from 10 states of India and from 3 countries.
Abstract :
This National workshop will provide an opportunity for the researchers, faculty members and students with a focused view on “Blockchain Technology and Bitcoins” and also to interact with Mr. Srinivas Mahankali.
Objective: To learn various case studies of Blockchain Technology in perspective to bitcoin and its road for cryptocurrency in the context of the world.

Ms. Dipali Dave, Assistant Professor, Ganpat University - Acharya Motibhai Patel Institute of Computer Studies welcomed the gathering and introduced speaker Mr. Srinivas Mahankali, Alumnus of IIT Madras and IIM Bangalore, Founder of Master Mentors Advisory Pvt Ltd, Secunderabad, India, Dr. Satyen Parikh, Executive Dean, Faculty of Computer Applications introduced speaker and delivered welcome speech.
About Speaker: Mr. Srinivas Mahankali, Alumnus of IIT Madras and IIM Bangalore, Founder of Master Mentors Advisory Pvt Ltd, Secunderabad, India. He is founder of Master Mentors Advisory Pvt. Ltd engaging in education, consultancy & implementation of projects in Blockchain and emerging technologies and has over 30 years Industry experience. His latest book is Blockchain and Healthcare- The trust factor. He worked as a lead Consultant for Blockchain and emerging technologies at the Government of India and NASSCOM promoted company, NISG (National Institute for Smart Government). As the inaugural Program Director of India' first University certified part time Post Graduate Program in Blockchain Technology by Amity University, he has mentored a number of Blockchain students across the world. He has authored several books on Technology like Blockchain- The Untold Story, Blockchain for Non-IT professionals, Blockchain and Smart cities. He also co-authored books like Secure Chains (Cyber Security & Blockchain), AI/ML powered Agents of Automation, Blockchain Consortiums, the Business model of the future etc.
Technical Session – Day 1
Mr. Srinivas Mahankali began the session by:
• Explaining the evolution of blockchain technology
• Narrating a story-based explanation of Bitcoin to simplify complex concepts
• Defining key terminologies such as Blockchain, Bitcoin, Cryptocurrency, and Distributed Ledger
• Discussing the architecture of decentralized blockchain networks
• Highlighting the trust mechanism behind blockchain systems
He also presented global statistics of the cryptocurrency market, helping participants understand adoption trends and market dynamics.
The session was highly interactive, with participants actively engaging in discussions related to blockchain fundamentals and decentralized trust models.
Technical Session – Day 2
Key topics covered included:
• Qualities and strengths of blockchain technology such as immutability, transparency, and decentralization
• Case Study: Fake certificates and digital signatures using blockchain
• Blockchain applications in India and comparison with global implementations
• Cryptocurrency trends, including Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) adoption
• Blockchain use cases in governance, healthcare, education, and finance
Mr. Mahankali elaborated on how blockchain is emerging as a trust technology and discussed the success factors behind its adoption worldwide.
The session concluded with a Question & Answer interaction, where participants raised insightful queries related to regulation, scalability, career opportunities, and future research directions.
Conclusion and Vote of Thanks:
The workshop concluded with a Vote of Thanks proposed by Dr. Nirbhay Chaubey, Dean, Faculty of Computer Applications, Ganpat University. He expressed gratitude to the resource person, organizing team, IEEE student branch, and all participants for making the two-day national workshop a grand success.
