Description

The GAMS was launched on 11 December, 1993 at Jiwaji University Gwalior and membership started in January 1994. Vital role in its establishment was played by researchers and faculty members of Gwalior region with Professor V. P. Saxena, Former Vice Chancellor of Jiwaji University, Gwalior as its founder president in the august presence of Prof. A. H. Siddiqui, A. M. U., Aligarh with the twin objectives of inculcating interest in mathematics amongst the scholars of Gwalior region and promoting teaching and research activities in mathematical sciences. Since then it has been endeavoring towards upliftment of mathematics by publishing news bulletins and research journals and organizing annual conferences workshops and seminars in interdisciplinary areas. Annual conventions of the Society have been held at various NIT, Universities, other reputed Engineering colleges in different parts of the country. GAMS has become a highly reputed society attracting large research community not only from India but also foreign countries. The society has gone a long way in promoting interdisciplinary research in Sciences & Engineering.

Mehsana Urban Institute of Sciences, Ganpat Vidyanagar has organized 22 Annual and 6th International Conference of Gwalior Academy of Mathematical Sciences (GAMS) and Symposium on “Mathematical Methods and Models in Bio-Sciences”. The conference was organized from 22 to 24 December, 2017 to commemorate the mathematics prodigy Shrinivas Ramanujan and his significant contribution to the field of mathematics upon his 130th birthday on the lush green campus of Ganpat University located in the North Region of Gujarat.

The three-day international conference on the theme of “Advances in Pure and Applied Mathematics” hosted by MUIS brought together various research scholars, mathematicians and students on a common platform where they amplified and exchanged brilliant ideas and discussed a wealth of mathematical knowledge. About 150 research scholars from across the country, USA and Nepal gathered here and disseminated fascinating details of their research by presenting more than 100 research papers.

Objectives of the conference:

  • To provide a platform for the academicians, scientists, engineers and researchers to discuss the advancement and present trends of mathematics and its applications in science and other fields.
  • To focus mainly on researches that can become a medium to fill the gap in present day communication.
  • To strengthen the research dimensions of mathematics by keeping in mind present and future research.
  • Increasing interest as well as awareness about advantages and applications of mathematics in Biological Sciences
