Ganpat University Faculty of Computer Applications, Emerging Technologies Lecture Series organized an International Webinar on “Data Science and Its Growing Importance” on 24th April, 2021 with objevite to provide an opportunity for the researchers, faculty members, data scientists and students with a focused view of “Data Science and its Growing Importance” and also to interact with Professor (Dr.) Abhinanda Sarkar, Ph.D, Stanford University, Adjunct Faculty, Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, India. Academic Director, Great Learning. The Webinar witnessed 66 participants from various colleges and universities from India and abroad. Objective of the Programme intends to make the participant understand the importance of Data Science and An interdisciplinary field, data science deals with processes and systems used to extract knowledge or insights from large amounts of data.

Ms. Dipali Dave, Assistant Professor, Ganpat University - Acharya Motibhai Patel Institute of Computer Studies welcomed the gathering and introduced speaker Prof. (Dr.) Abhinanda Sarkar. Dr. Satyen Parikh, Executive Dean, Faculty of Computer Applications introduced speaker and delivered welcome speech. Dr. Sarkar described Data science is an important field focused on understanding and drawing specific business, financial, manufacturing and medical research and forecasting. The data science process is about analyzing, visualizing, extracting, managing and storing data to create insights from analytics. These insights and reports help companies analyze their marketing strategies, make powerful data-driven decisions and create better advertisements. He also discuss about randomized controlled trails: “the economic lives of the poor” by giving the example. He has talked about artificial intelligence: deep neural networks. Data Science and Big Data are very much important and beneficial for better marketing, forecasting. reduce the constraints of time and budget allocation, prevent a debt default, fraud detection and other cases in the financial domain etc. , followed by questions and answer session.
