As per instructions of Govt. of India, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Swachhta Hi Sewa Campaign should be carried out by the concern N.S.S. Units.

In accordance of this N.S.S. Unit of Faculty of Science: Mehsana Urban Institute of Sciences Ganpat University carried out 2 drives for Swachh Bharat Campaign.

  • Date: 29/09/2023, Friday: With the motive of Swachh Bharat and Clean Campus-Green Campus, first drive was carried out to clean the Ganpat University Campus. The drive started with the gathering of all N.S.S. Units of the University. The volunteers were addressed regarding the importance of cleanliness in our day to day life by the President of the University Hon’ble Ganpatbhai Patel (Dada). The event further had an Swachhta Pledge Session for all and then the volunteers with the Program Officer were assign a specific area, for our unit it was area behind the University Office building to Micro Forest. The team worked for around 1.5 hours gathering approximately 10 kg of garbage.
  • Date: 01/10/2023, Sunday: On call of Action by Hon’ble Prime Minister of India for 1 hour of Shramdaan for Swachhta at 10 AM on 01st October, our Unit decided to clean the ground of Holy Sadhi Maa Temple located at Kherva-Sangalpur Road. As there was a public fair on the ground few days before there was a lot of plastic waste left over.  The team reached around 09:15 AM at the venue. Awareness about the Single Used Plastic was provided by the Program Officer & further the team was allotted 5 different parts of the ground to be cleaned. The team was joined by 04 other faculty members. The Campaign was carried out from 09:30 AM to 11:30 AM i.e 2 hours & the amount of garbage collected was around 15 industrial size garbage bags consisting of approximately 25 kg of the plastic waste.
