Introduction :
A startup awareness session was conducted to introduce 90+ students to Venme, a digital platform designed to simplify the process of discovering and booking event venues. The objective of the session was to explain the challenges people face while finding venues for events and to show how technology can make this process easier.
Discussion on Existing Challenges:
The session began with a discussion about the difficulties people usually face when organizing events such as weddings, birthday parties, and other social functions. Finding a suitable venue often requires searching on different websites, making multiple phone calls, visiting venues physically, and comparing unclear pricing and availability.
Venue owners also face several challenges. Many venues do not have strong online visibility and depend mostly on word of mouth marketing. Because of the lack of a proper digital system, venue owners may miss inquiries from potential customers and find it difficult to manage bookings efficiently.
Introduction to the Venme Platform:
To address these issues, the Venme platform was introduced. Venme acts as a bridge between customers and venue owners by providing a centralized place where users can discover, compare, and book event venues.
The platform aims to simplify venue discovery by presenting organized and transparent information so that users can make better decisions while planning events.
Key Features of the Platform :
During the session, several key features of the Venme platform were explained:
• Smart search and filtering options to help users find venues based on location, capacity, and other requirements
• Detailed venue listings with photos, descriptions, and important information • Clear availability and pricing information for easier comparison
• A simplified booking process that saves time while finalizing venues
The platform also provides a dedicated Owner Dashboard for venue owners. Through this dashboard, venue owners can manage venue listings, respond to booking inquiries, update venue information, and track customer interactions. The dashboard also allows venue owners to generate invoices or bills for confirmed bookings, helping them manage bookings and transactions more efficiently.
Platform Demonstration :
A short demonstration of the Venme platform was presented during the session. Students were shown how users can search for venues, apply filters, view venue details, and proceed with the booking process. This demonstration helped students understand how the platform works in practice.
Current Progress :
It was also shared that the Venme platform is currently live and operational. At present, more than 15 venues have been onboarded on the platform. The initial operations are focused on Ahmedabad, and the platform plans to expand to other cities in the future.
Future Vision:
The long term vision of Venme is to become a widely used platform for venue discovery and booking in India. The goal is to make event planning simpler and more transparent for both customers and venue owners.
Conclusion
The session concluded with an interactive discussion where students were encouraged to explore the Venme platform and understand how digital platforms can improve traditional event planning processes. The session also highlighted opportunities for students to engage with startup initiatives and gain exposure to the startup ecosystem.
